How to make the ID more reliable

  • Use a ruler or coin for scale. Size is often more useful than color.
  • Note the exact surface and room, not just “inside the house.”
  • Watch movement: flying, jumping and crawling separate several look-alikes quickly.
  • Look for secondary evidence: droppings, shed skins, webbing, egg cases, gnaw marks, trails, holes or nest traffic.
  • Do not identify a pest from a bite mark alone.

What happens to your answers?

The identifier logic runs in your browser and does not send these selections to a HomeBugShield application endpoint. Standard requests needed to load the site still reach the hosting/security infrastructure, and any future advertising or analytics processing is governed separately by the privacy and consent setup described in the privacy policy.
