Current data practices
As of September 15, 2026, HomeBugShield does not require an account, does not provide a contact form, and does not load a site-owned analytics or advertising script. The bug identifier evaluates your selected answers in your browser; those selections are not submitted to a HomeBugShield application endpoint.
Hosting and security logs
Requests still have to reach the infrastructure that delivers and protects the site. Hosting and security providers may therefore process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps and security signals for delivery, abuse prevention, reliability and security. Their processing and retention are governed by the services actually used and their applicable terms and policies.
Cookies and browser storage
The current core site does not need a non-essential cookie or local-storage identifier to provide its content or the bug finder. If a future feature stores a preference locally, or if analytics or advertising is introduced, this policy and the consent setup will be updated before non-essential storage is activated where consent is legally required.
Advertising and analytics
HomeBugShield is designed so advertising may be enabled later, but it is not represented here as active before the relevant provider code is actually deployed. If advertising or analytics is enabled, the site will disclose the relevant provider and processing and will use an appropriate consent mechanism where required.
External links
Source links and other external links take you to third-party websites with their own privacy practices. Following those links is a separate interaction with the destination site.
Changes
This policy is updated when the site's actual data practices change rather than describing hypothetical tracking as if it were already present. Last updated: September 15, 2026.
